Donations

Contributions from our stakeholders enrich Shangri-La’s ability to fulfill its mission and personally affect those we serve.  In response to several Donors’ personal interests and generosity, the following funds were created to support Shangri-La’s operations or consumers. Additional donations are gratefully accepted.

The Harms Fund
Minnie Harms created this fund in honor of her granddaughter who lives in one of our homes to “enhance the living environments of individuals with developmental disabilities”. Donations help to purchase home furnishings and décor to personalize a home or replace aging items.

Endowment Fund
Shangri-La’s Endowment Fund is a way for donors to make a significant investment in the future of Shangri-La Corporation.  Monitored by the Corporation’s Board of Directors, these funds are conservatively invested and managed for moderate growth with the intent that a portion of the gain can provide financial assistance to Shangri-La Corporation to carry out its mission.

Leadership Fund
Strong organizations allocate resources for training its workforce, technology for greater efficiencies, and development of new or revised programs and services.  Donors to this fund recognize that it is critical to invest in current capacity, as well as plan for growth, in order to ensure its future.
Louise's Shoes Fund
Was created when an individual served lacked the personal resources or insurance to purchase needed orthopedic shoes. Donations to this fund help purchase specific medical or critical personal items that enhance a person’s quality of life.
